Tennessee 41 Alabama 14
Oct. 25, 1969 at Birmingham

Tennessee jumped on Alabama early and never let up. UT scored 21 first quarter points, highlighted by a 71 yard punt return for a touchdown by Bobby Majors and a 27 yard fumble-interception returned for a touchdown by Jackie Walker.

Every conceivable honor was heaped on linebacker Steve Kiner following an unbelievable performance in the thorough smashing of Alabama. There was still enough glory left over to clothe quarterback Bobby Scott with the UPI Southeast offensive player of the week award. Kiner was named national lineman of the week by AP and Sports Illustrated. Kiner threw Tide QB's for losses on five plays, intercepted a pass, caused a fumble, made 11 tackles and three assists and forced throws hurridly four other times.
